Club 2006

Test

Hello 2006 Parent,

Congratulations on the recent addition to your family!

Your Big Sisters of Club 2004 are looking forward to welcoming you to the Las Madres Neighborhood Playgroups family.

Whether you are seeking advice, support, or new friends for you and your bundle of joy -- you've come to the right page: Las Madres Neighborhood Playgroups are where tons of fun, advice and friendship for you and your little one begin.

Las Madres is a network of neighborhood playgroups in the general Santa Clara County area. Playgroups are organized by the year in which children were born. All fourteen playgroups together form the Club of that year. We are now establishing the 2006 playgroups, which consist of moms, dads, and other caregivers of babies born in 2006.

The Big Sisters from the 2004 playgroups will help the 2006 playgroups get off to a great start by setting up the initial meetings in the spring. At a later stage (usually in the fall), when the playgroups become larger and more active, you will elect your own officers and be off on your own, with your Big Sisters as a resource if needed.

For over 50 years, moms (and other caregivers) have found support and friendship in their neighborhood playgroups at park meetings, Mom's Nights Out, and other events. In addition to the playgroup activities, the Executive level organizes Speaker Nights that have proven to be an important resource to parents of children ages 0-5 as well as larger-scale children's activities, special events, and discounts. Please, take a look at the Frequently Asked Questions section to find out more about the history of the organization!

Las Madres is a strictly volunteer organization with over 2000 members all over the South Bay. We do ask every member to volunteer in some capacity on an annual basis. There are many things to choose from - some of which are one time only assignments and some that require more time and dedication such as Director or even President of a Club. We hope that members all pitch in to help so that no one person has to carry a bigger load than they want.

In early 2007 Las Madres will host a Welcome Luncheon for all those that expressed interest in the 2006 Las Madres playgroups. This is a great event attended by some 350 people and when the 2006 Club is officially launched.

Thank you very much for showing an interest in Las Madres. It is mainly because of people like you that we are such a great organization to belong to! We hope to see you at one of our events soon!

Sincerely,

Your Big Sisters from Club 2004
