Windy City Morgan Owners Group announces that it will have a major presence at this fall's VSCDA vintages races, to be held from September 17-19, 2004 at Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI.
Morgan is the featured marque this year and the organizers expect more than 50 Morgan racers from around the world to attend the meet. There will be special races for Morgans of different vintages, and the Morgans will also race alongside other cars in various class races.
"We are excited to have this major Morgan event in our backyards," said Dan Ehrmann, President of Windy City MOG. "We look forward to welcoming Morgan fans and the community to our area and to doing everything possible to ensure that people have a great visit."
On Friday, September 17 from 6:30 - 8:00 pm, Windy City MOG is co-sponsoring a welcome reception for the Morgan community and fans, featuring hors d'oeuvres and wine. The cosponsor is North Shore Import Sportscars of Lake Bluff, IL, the local Morgan dealer that will also have a race car at the event. Following the reception will be a sit-down dinner with a guest speaker. Registration is required.
On Saturday, September 17, Windy City MOG is organizing a concours for all the Morgans present. It will be held in the infield paddock reserved by the organizers for the Morgan community. Throughout the day and working around the race schedule, there will be featured drives of Morgan cars, including a track exhibition and an escorted tour around the historic city track. Windy City MOG will continually staff a welcome tent and table with badges and other regalia for Morgan fans in attendance.
