This ride is Banana Pie minus the lung-busting climb out of Bobbin Head on the steep Mt Colah side. Starting at Turramurra station we will ride up through leafy Wahroonga to Hornsby and then take on the undulations of the Pacific Highway to Pie in the Sky for a pie and a coffee with a view. The return leg takes in Bobbin Head and the climb out the less steep N. Turramurra side. This is a good ride for people who want to step up a bit and challenge themselves with a ride that still includes some significant climbs.

This is an out-and-back, any-day, all-weather, light-traffic fitness ride. The first and last 6km have easy grades and slower pace. Extra effort is required to climb the hills in the middle section particularly in Lane Cove Park where three optional hills are included for extra training fun.
In order to average the required pace over the whole distance, riders need to ride more quickly where appropriate to make up for the slower climbing pace and delays on on the shared cycle paths.
The entire ride takes less than two hours to return back to the start point at Eastwood Station which allows riders to fit other activities into their day.
If you have time, then an optional coffee stop is at the end of the ride around Eastwood

This is a very scenic ride.
We travel via Mona Vale Rd and McCarrs Ck Rd to views of Pittwater around Church Point and Bayview. Then quiet but hilly back roads past the northern beaches and an ocean lookout to the Palm Beach wharf where there may be time for a quick coffee before the ferry leaves. Glorious views of Broken Bay and Lion Is as we cross to Patonga. Climb up through Brisbane Waters National Park. The last stage begins with a descent to sea level down then via Ettalong Beach and Booker Bay to Woy Woy station. Return by train.
Preregistration required due to limit to the number of bikes that can fit on the ferry. We usually return to Turramurra by early- to mid-afternoon. During summer months this ride may include a stop for a swim - bring the cosies!

Ride commences and ends at the Woy Woy railway station, and proceeds in a counter-clockwise direction around Brisbane Water harbour.
Commencing initially along the peaceful banks of Woy Woy, riders will ride around Blackwall Mountain, and over the Rip Bridge with its tremendous water views, Riders will then head mostly along Empire Bay Dr to Kincumber South. A few short hills will be ridden. As will some side roads to add in more water views.
Joining the shared path at the entrance to the Nautical Retirement Village, we commence riding through numerous reserves, over creeks, and along water ways ending close to Saratonga. Sections will be divided with suburbia.
It's then up to Avoca Dr with a climb of Mount Pleasant. Avoca Dr and the Central Coast hwy will be used to take riders into the heart of Gosford, both on the road and along shared paths, and some back streets.
From Gosford riders will once again experience significant water views and reserves (and a little suburbia), optionally along numerous shared paths to return back to Woy Woy. This section is mostly flat.
Coffee can be enjoyed either in Gosford or back in Woy Woy.
The ride includes significant flattish areas but also has hilly areas. Riders are to have geared bikes due to the hilly nature of ride sections. Road bikes and flat bar road bikes are advised.
Riders should be comfortable and competent with doing Bike North ride "Pie In The Sky" at moderate pace of 19 to 22 km/hr overall.
While there are numerous shared paths, riders need to be comfortable cycling on the road/road shoulder with some fast passing traffic.
There is an option for riders to leave the ride at Gosford, which is approximately 12 km from the end of the ride. Additionally there are a number of railway stations between Gosford and Woy Woy. Rider optionally could turn around at any point and retrace the route, but please let the ride leader know BEFORE you leave the ride.

This ride contains several steep hills but the effort is rewarded with a scenic outlook. We have to negotiate Lane Cove National Park past Browns Waterholes, then the arduous climb up Kissing Point Road to Turramurra. After riding through suburban streets, then the Old Pacific Highway, we ride into Ku-Ring-Gai Chase N.P., stopping at Kalkari Visitor Centre to use the amenities and to have a short break. Then the fantastic descent to Bobbin Head, then the ascent to North Turramurra and coffee. After the coffee, we can enjoy the descent of Kissing Point Road, and back to Epping the same way we came.

This ride offers a spectacular views from the Brisbane Waters harbour through to the beautiful beaches of The Peninsula. Starting at Gosford railway station, the ride will pass a short distance through the Gosford city to reach the Harbour of Brisbane Waters at Point Frederick. From there the ride will pick up the Point to Pelican path that winds around half of Brisbane Waters, passing through the tourist-famous Fisherman’s wharf where Pelican’s abound. Ride will continue along the foreshore to the extremity of Woy Woy, then will continue on to follow along the beaches and foreshores of Ettalong, Umina and Ocean Beach which is on Broken Bay, at the mouth of Pittwater. Interesting history: the aboriginal word “Woy Woy” has been interpreted as “the big lagoon”, another interpretation has been “water, water”. These are good descriptors for this ride. “Ettalong” is an aboriginal word meaning “place for drinking”. While this relates to fresh water, Ettalong also now happens to have a good variety of coffee stops. The Peninsula region of the Central Coast has been inhabited for thousands of years by Aboriginal people. The local Guringai people were the first Aboriginal people to come in contact with British settlers. Over time the rugged terrain made the area a haven for smugglers, moonshiners, escapee convicts. Its history moved on to see it become a favourite holiday location in the 1900’s, till now where it is also a haven of commuters to Sydney, and retirees. Returning to ride logistics, there are many convenient early exit points (train stations) between Gosford and Woy Woy as the Point to Pelican path follows between the railway line and the Brisbane Waters waterway. Additionally, riders can turn around at any point and retrace the route. If a rider leaves the ride, they should let the ride leader or sweep know BEFORE leaving the ride, ensuring the person acknowledges they heard you
